My Friend Patches

Patches is a cute story about a young girl and her best friend, a small horse named Patches.  One of her responsibilities was to close and latch the barn door every night.  But one night she forgot, and that was the night of the great storm.  With all the thunder and lightning, Patches was afraid, and moved around.  Then she accidentally bumped the barn door and it opened!  Patches did what most horses do when they are afraid, she took off running as fast as she could go. Patches ran and ran until she was so tired she could not run anymore. Then she found a little lean-to and went into it to get out of the rain and rest. The lean-to belonged to a farmer whose old horse had died. And he had prayed for another horse, because he needed it to work the fields to help feed his family. 

What happens next will bless you as the girl who owned her found kindness in her heart and a blessing from God.
